Poster Fold
The poster fold assignment consisted of designing a front cover as well as content meant to be folded on the opposite side. The challenge with this project involved depicting an accurate tone for the music festival chosen as well as making each section of content cohesive and systematic. The music festival chosen was described as psychedelic and techno music. The goal was to create a composition that felt somewhat trippy but maintained literacy organization. During the first iteration, the issues presented were that the system did not make much sense and the content would become hard to read when folded. The sections on the back of the piece needed to be reorganized and the font reworked to create a better hierarchy. Once the font choice was revised the reorganization of information became easier with the improved legibility of the information.

The Research
Time was spent looking at many different music festival posters and designs to create a solution for this assignment that matched what the main goal was. Creating a psychedelic design with limited color and visuals was the main challenge experienced during this assignment. The typeface also needed to depict an accurate tone while still being legible for the viewer. The limited color may have aided in finding a solution due to the lack of focus needed on that aspect of the design. Overall, the final solution in successful in depicting the tone describe by the music festival chosen.
Color Version/ Revision
The color rework introduced bold gradients, warped line patterns, and a vibrant, layered background inspired by psychedelic poster art and the natural landscape of the festival’s setting. These visual elements helped capture the immersive and eclectic atmosphere of the event while maintaining legibility and clarity across multiple sections of dense information.
In addition to introducing color, several structural improvements were made during the rework: alignment and spacing were refined for better balance, typographic scale was adjusted to strengthen the visual hierarchy, and new section headers were added for easier navigation. The end result is a dynamic, eye-catching design that communicates both the essential logistics and the spirit of the festival.
