Case
Study DEsign
The case study design project involved creating two distinct case study layouts, each tailored to the branding of its respective website. The most challenging aspect of the process was simply getting started, as establishing a clear direction for the designs felt daunting. However, laying out the typography first proved to be an effective way to break through this initial hurdle and provided a solid foundation for the rest of the design process.
Each design was heavily influenced by the branding of the corresponding website, requiring close attention to their existing visual elements, such as color schemes, typography, and overall aesthetic. By aligning the designs with these branding elements, the final layouts seamlessly complemented the websites they represented. This approach not only ensured consistency but also made the case studies feel like an integral part of the brand identity.
My Time With Big Storm
As a design intern at Big Storm, I had the opportunity to create two in-depth case study layouts for clients, each designed to reflect the visual identity and tone of their respective brands. These projects required a strategic blend of research, layout design, and brand adaptation. I began by analyzing each client’s website and marketing materials to understand their visual language—examining elements like color usage, typography, imagery, and tone of voice. This informed the overall structure and styling of each layout, ensuring that the case studies felt cohesive and consistent with the larger brand experience.
One of the most valuable aspects of this project was learning how to translate complex content into clear, engaging layouts that prioritize readability and visual hierarchy. Working within the constraints of real brand systems challenged me to think critically and make purposeful design decisions. I collaborated closely with the content and strategy teams to align messaging with layout flow, making sure each section of the case study was visually balanced and easy to navigate.
These two case studies represent my ability to adapt to different brand voices while maintaining a clean, strategic design approach. The experience gave me deeper insight into the intersection of marketing and design, and helped strengthen my skills in both visual storytelling and professional collaboration.
